Basic Rib Cardigan from Knit by TrineP
The cardigan is knitted in rib (3 rows, 2 purls) with dropped shoulders.
First knit one side of the neck, then turn up the end of the neck piece to one front piece.
When the front piece is knitted, put the stitches to rest while the other half of the neck piece is knitted and the other front piece.
Then knit up stitches along the front pieces and the neck piece to the back.
When the back is knitted, all the pieces are gathered and knitted back and forth until the body is finished. Finally, stitches are picked up along the armhole and the sleeves are knitted.

The cardigan is therefore 100% assembly-free.   

You can choose to knit the cardigan in a regular version or a short version.

Note that the armhole may seem small when you knit it, but since it is dropped shoulders and rib, it will fit when the sleeves are knitted on and it is washed.
