Gaia shawl from Knit by TrineP
This shawl was originally knitted in collaboration with my mother. In cooperation, we have agreed on the different elements the shawl consists of. Precisely because the shawl was for my mother, the name Gaia was a perfect fit. It means goddess of the earth, and symbolizes the cycle of life on earth.
The Gaia shawl is shaped like a semicircle and is knitted from the bottom up, back and forth. First knit the beautiful border, reminiscent of seashells, then a stockinette piece on which the hole pattern begins.
The shawl is for the experienced knitter, as there are many stitches, pattern on both wrong side and right side and large diagrams. However, the recipe is well described and is therefore easy to follow.
