Wool Collective wool soap
About the soap
The vegan wool soap from Wool Collective is an environmentally friendly detergent for knitted clothing. The soap contains lanolin (the natural fat in sheep's wool) and maintains your wool in the most beautiful way.
The soap is handmade at Havdypp in the Faroe Islands with local ingredients, and the scented variants have essential oils added instead of perfume. The soaps contain no harmful chemicals and come without plastic packaging.
One soap weighs 55 g and is enough for about 15 washes.
Note that the soap blocks are shaped and cut by hand. The soaps are uneven and not quite the same in shape, as this way we avoid unnecessary waste in production.
You can read more about both the soap and the production here .
Washing instructions
Hand washing: Put 3-4 g of soap in a tub, fill with lukewarm water and dissolve the soap. Alternatively, you can lather up the soap block in the water and let it dry afterwards.
Place the clothes in the tub and carefully work the soap in without twisting or pulling the fibers. Let the clothes rest in the water for about 15 minutes. Rinse the clothes in clean water to clean out the soap. Lift the garment out and gently squeeze the water out of it. Dry your knitwear flat.
Machine wash: Put the clothes in a laundry bag in the machine and fill 3-4 g of soap in the soap drawer - you can use a grater to grate the soap to make sure it dissolves completely in the machine. Wash the clothes on a wool or hand wash programme. Dry the clothes flat. Always wash the garment by hand if you are in doubt as to whether it can be machine washed.
